Description:
The role of the Life Licensed Retirement Specialist (RS), is to increase the assets of the Rollover area by encouraging existing Group Retirement Services (GRS) members leaving their employer sponsored plans to enroll in our Group Choices products. The RS will also offer other Group products such as extended health coverage and life insurance conversion.The RS will also promote consolidation of assets and usage of, 'my family plan', which extends eligibility and access to our premium products and pricing to the family members of our plan members. These responsibilities are accomplished by offering financial advice directly to plan members within the structure of the our advice model and providing information relating to the various retirement products and services available in our offering. This requires an in-depth knowledge of product features, investment options, tax issues, and provincial and federal legislation.
* Connect directly with existing GRS plan members who are leaving, or have left their employer (the SLF plan sponsor) and are considering the options available to them for the transfer of plan assets. Ensure members clearly understand their decisions, and the advantages of leaving their assets within GRS
* Attain personal sales goals for Choices programs, based on both asset and enrolment targets. Contribution towards quarterly team sales goals is also an expected
* Initiate outbound calls, and receive inbound phone calls to explain the various products, respond to questions related to product features, fund investment options, tax treatment/issues, investments and applicable legislation in relation to the products. This includes clearly explaining the alternatives the member has for their assets, the relative advantages and disadvantages of each, and the value of the Choices product option
* Provide investment advice to members on the rollover products available to them, including retirement savings and income products
* Ensure members understand the process and theory behind asset allocation, and guide the member through the asset allocation process using the various tools available. Make specific investment recommendations based on the assessment of the members' ability and willingness for bear financial risk
* Provide information on and promote the advantages of, 'my family plan', which extends eligibility and access to our premium products and pricing to the family members of our plan members
* For members considering retirement, review all of the decision criteria, and provide clear explanation around the retirement income products, and the relative advantages and disadvantages of each. Project income scenarios under the various products and ensure the member understands the ramifications of each option. Make recommendations where requested and finalize retirement product selection
* Keep abreast of product changes, understand new products that come to market or are developed by legislation, understand changes in the industry and be mindful of competitor information. The RS is responsible for providing suggestions/recommendations on how to make the Choices products more competitive
* Meet with members, as needed, at their worksite to provide information and advice to ensure they understand the various options available to them as a result of their impending termination. The RS will be accountable for guiding the member through the decision-making process
* In addition to the consulting, the RS needs to process the member's transition from their employer plan to the Choices product This requires an in-depth knowledge of our Global recordkeeping system
* RS may be responsible for recommending, securing approval and confirming interest rate enhancements for large cases where applicable
Requirements:
* Life Insurance License is a requirement of this role
* Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
Competencies:
* Comprehensive and deep understanding of wealth management products, financial markets, financial planning, retirement options, annuities, and the impacts of each
* Solid company and industry knowledge with a good appreciation for competitive offerings in the industry
* Several years of sales experience and a service orientation
* Ability to impact and influence the decisions of plan members to ensure they are choosing the right products, funds and services that match their needs, risk tolerance etc.
* Ability to adapt to change is also necessary as products, processes and systems continue to evolve.
* Solid ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure full completion of the role
* Team oriented
* Problem-solving and analytical skills
* Prior experience with call centers or telephone servicing
