ole Summary:
The Account Executive is responsible for new business sales and the profitable management of a portfolio of group clients in the Ottawa sales office. Sales and promotional activity take place through advisors in the Ottawa region as well as local brokers. There are annual new business, retention/growth and profitability targets for this role.
Main Accountabilities:
* Main Sun Life contact for clients, responsible for the overall client relationship with Sun Life
* Responsible for the growth and profitability of an assigned block of business
* Manages the relationship with assigned advisors, including new business development
* Ensures client/advisor needs are met through the delivery of value-added products and services
Requirements:
Competencies:
* Extensive experience (2-4 years) in group insurance (sales, underwriting or consulting)
* Minimum of 2 years proven sales success in the group market
* Experience working with clients and executives within the client organization as well as with plan advisors
* Knowledge of group benefit plan design including flexible benefit plans, underwriting and financial management, technology and Internet applications, benefit and plan taxation, communications and administration procedures, claims practices, government legislation and current developments in the benefits field
* Integrity, customer focus, strong leadership skills and the ability to work successfully in a team environment
* Strong negotiation, analytical and influencing skills
* Self-starter and results oriented
* Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, and be adept at project management and handling of multiple priorities
* Bilingualism is an asset
