Description:
Reporting to the Vice-President, Ebusiness and Call Center Solutions (ECS), the AVP IT Account Leader, will be responsible for the overall delivery of all IT solutions for Public and Corporate Affairs (P&CA) and the International Marketing Center (IMC). The IMC is a new and evolving organization that has accountability for the web channel(both public and transactional sites) across Sun Life globally.

This is an individual contributor role, however will need to work across SLF globally in an influential capacity. This individual will work closely with senior executives from different business groups across SLF, including the VP, Digital leader and will need to influence, challenge and bring forward innovative solutions.
The role and the deliverables are customer facing, impacting corporate reputation and brand value.

* Familiarity with applications development life cycle, specifically around web development - both content and transactional

Note: Some international travel will be required

Other:
Specific responsibilities and key success factors of this position are:

* Responsible for building and managing relationships with internal clients at all levels - acts as a strategic advisor
* Creation and execution of IT strategic plan to support the evolving needs of the IMC and P&CA organization - works in partnership with the VP digital strategy.
* Budget management
* Provide thought leadership to strategically guide the business in information technology solutions in support of P&CA and IMC objectives
* Be an active contributor to the business, providing direction, guidance and recommendations
* Maintain currency on market trends within the web environment, including web 2.0 and Social Media
* Build relationships with external vendors of products and services to understand external markets, processes, best practices and tools and bring relevant ideas to the business
* Accountable for direct oversight of all projects, content management services and initiatives in support of the business partners
* Responsible for long-term planning and forecasting for projects, capital and resources, and ongoing realignment of same to meet new or changing business priorities
* Secures executive agreement and funding for project direction and solutions
* Work with delivery partners within Enterprise Services IT, external vendors and partners to ensure delivery and support of all projects on time, on budget, meeting business and IT expectations
* Communication to business and IT of strategic direction, project status and operational issues will be critical components of the position
* Ensure financial management, tracking and measurement of all key IT activities
* Active participant in various forums at Sun Life, including the customer experience group (CEG).
