Description:
The Associate Product Manager will contribute to the success of the Individual Wealth Management product line by championing the Wealth Management suite of products and partnering with distribution channels to achieve sales objectives.
The Associate Product Manager would assist in managing, innovating and contributing to the development and ongoing nurturing of fixed term / interest baring products, including GIC's, accumulation annuities, various savings accounts, that meet the needs of customers as well as the expectations of our distribution partners and shareholders.

Main Accountabilities:
As a key product champion, the Associate Product Manager's accountabilities fall into five major areas:
* Product management
* New development/innovation
* Governance
* Training support
* Contract management
Product Management
The APM will assist with or oversee:
* The management of the Wealth guaranteed product shelf
* Analyze, understand and facilitate changes to systems for products we approve for distribution (enhancements, new products, new channels.)
* Develop and maintain primary research on products and partners for the Wealth product shelf (i.e. product requirements, competitor, industry)
* Develop and document processes around managing the Wealth guaranteed product shelf
* Management of inforce products including support for new legislative changes and ongoing product servicing (i.e contract drafting, and asset retention strategies)
* Updating product documentation for external and internal websites such as Sunlife.ca and Advisor Business Centre (ABC)
* Managing the Business review and Publication Review Process (PRP) for advisor and client-facing materials
* The creation and distribution of various product shelf reporting
* Responses to product inquiries from external and internal partners
* Represent the product team in various cross functional forums
New Development
The APM will be asked to provide:
* Assistance with global environmental reviews and competitor analysis
* Assistance with new idea evaluation
* Development of product specifications / design documents
* Support the development of feasibility studies and business cases for new projects
* Project Management and subject matter expertise through management of business reviews and PRP for new sales support and marketing materials
Governance

Market environment scanning and monitoring

Relationship management - maintain contact with strategic and distribution partners as needed

Assist the Product Manager, Guaranteed Investments with ongoing governance of the AA/GIC portfolio through single case exception management, reporting to various Working Groups and partnership with internal and external partners concerning adherence to regulatory requirements
Training support
* Provide product information and training assistance to advisors and other business partners to help them understand guaranteed products
* Subject matter expert for specific training initiatives
Contract Drafting / Contract Management
* Initiate and manage the process to update and amend contracts and applications due to admin or regulatory changes
* Drafting of new contracts related to new product launches
* Assisting advisors and staff with contract/applications inquiries
