Description:
The Financial Analyst is a highly skilled financial professional who has significant hands-on experience with financial control, analysis and reporting as they relate to the budget-expense cycle in a large organization. The successful candidate is adept at working either independently or as part of a team.
Requirements:
Competencies:
* Undergraduate degree in business/finance
* Accounting designation and/or equivalent experience
* A minimum of 3 years experience in accounting / finance, specifically in budget and expense management: preferably in a shared services or IT services environment
* Strong knowledge of reporting including financial and management reporting
* Thorough accounting knowledge including GAAP
* Strong analytical, planning, financial modeling, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to articulate financial concepts in layman's terms to people in non-financial roles
* Proven client care skills; able to meet service standards and maintain good customer communications
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Strong ability to prioritize, manage time, organize work and multi-task
* Proficient with desktop applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
* Good presentation skills
* Core knowledge of commodity taxes

Main Accountabilities:
Expense Management and Reporting:
* Analyzing and reporting on monthly variances by explaining variances to budget and forecast
* Providing support to internal clients by addressing and resolving expense issues
* Monitoring and reconciling source data to financial systems
* Maintaining schedules to support fixed asset, prepaid expense and accrual balances
* Preparing and entering journal entries
* Providing support for the forecast process and consolidation including analyses
* Suggesting improvements to current processes
* Providing support in determining the division's over / under financial position
* Completing and analyzing global IT expense requirements for quarterly management reporting
* Assisting with requests for information from internal and external clients
Budget Management:
* Coordinating and maintaining budget templates
* Coordinating budgets with expense managers and product/service owners
* Monitoring, analyzing and following-up on budget issues
* Assisting in producing budget packages
