Description:
Market "Champion" for Life insurance products with a primary focus on the underlying competitive environment, market and distribution trends. Responsible for research, analysis and the development of solutions that provide CSF and Wholesale distributors with Sun Life Financial products that meet the needs of prospective and existing customers.
Requirements:
Competencies:
* Previous marketing experience, particularly in the area of developing marketing plans and promotional initiatives for financial products
* An in-depth understanding of the financial services marketplace, including financial planning and investment selection
* An understanding of marketing concepts & approaches to selling financial products
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Strong analytical and investigative abilities
* Ability to motivate and inspire others to action
* Strong collaboration skills
* Demonstrated self-management and initiative
* The ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks while at the same time maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
Assets:
* Post-secondary education in marketing, business or commerce
* Working toward the CFP or CLU designation
* Ability to deliver presentations to large or small audiences
* Familiarity with the products offered by Sun Life
* A background in sales and/or sales support
* Experience with Wholesale distribution partners and/or Career Sales Force
* Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset but not a requirement

Main Accountabilities:
* Become an expert on Life products; their key selling features, costs, and the approaches used to promote them. In this context the competitive set would include the spectrum of product choices offered in the broad financial services sector
* Working closely with Life product team to create related product marketing and educational plans to maintain and increase sales
* Act as a key resource to the other Product Managers by sharing expertise and insights in developing marketing plans and related promotional initiatives
* Champion issues which cross product boundaries such as promoting our UL Fund line up and Underwriting value proposition across all life insurance product lines
* Monitor competitor activity and provide actionable market intelligence to both the Career Sales Force and Wholesale distribution channels so that they can compete effectively and deliver appropriate advice and product solutions
* Validate marketing plans with distribution partners and other key stakeholders
* Work with internal partners within Sun Life's cross-functional team framework to communicate requirements and the value proposition to ensure initiatives are understood, supported and ultimately meet the needs of our distribution partners
