Description:
The Consolidated Accountant will report to the Consolidation Accounting Manager under Management Accounting team in Central Accounting Office Corporate. As a member of the team, his or her role is contributing to achievement of the divisional goal - provide timely and relevant financial information.
Requirements:
Main Accountabilities:
* Perform Investment in subsidiaries accounting and control
* Monthly upload to Oracle based on submission from foreign subsidiaries' with other accounting system
* Monitor internal capital transactions within the Sun Life Financial group of companies
* Prepare various interim and annual legal entity CGAAP financial statements
* Provide financial analysis, statutory reporting and audit schedules as requested
* Liaise with auditors, tax, various departments, business groups and Sun Life Financial offices and subsidiaries to meet our reporting requirements
* Prepare Chart of Values requests as required to ensure complete and accurate accounts and hierarchies
Competencies:
* Accounting designation CA, CMA, CGA or equivalent with relevant work experience (student member with equivalent work experience, actively pursing accounting designation, will also be considered)
* Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, Oracle OFA and Discoverer
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to handle conflicting priorities to meet tight deadlines
* Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
* Excellent analytical skills, accuracy and strong attention to detail
