1. How do I create a Video Resume?
First, write and memorize a script that describes you and your qualifications. Using a video camera, webcam or cellphone, look straight into the lens and speak. Try different presentations and do as many takes as you need to get one you are happy with. When you are ready, download the video to your computer and then upload the best to Mayomann. Here are some tips.
* seat yourself or stand in front of a neutral background e.g. a blank wall.
* make sure the camera is completely still. Use a tripod if possible, or place the camera on a table.
* make sure there is lots of light on your face and that there are no dark shadows.
* include an area on your body from your waist up (your legs and feet are not necessary)
* look straight into the lens
* do not move around too much
* speak with good volume and as clearly as possible
2. I'm looking for a job right now. How does Mayomann can help me to find one?
Mayomann keeps track of the visitors (employers) who check out your listing. Knowing who might be interested in you helps you target your job search towards those companies. Armed with a video resume, this can help a lot in getting an interview.
3. Do I need to upload a video resume to use Mayomann?
No, you can create a profile using just a written resume. However, because video resumes are very effective, we suggest that you take full advantage of your listing.
4. How long and big should the video be?
As Human Resources departments and most employers have limited time, we suggest your video should be no longer than 1 minute. Short, succinct and informative is best.
5. I already have a written resume. Can I upload the file?
You can "copy and paste" your current resumes content into our resume field, but since your resume becomes part of our database (which is searched by employers every day) you cannot upload a separate file.
6. What if I don't want anyone to see my video resume?
Login and press the "Unpublish" button on your profile, and your video resume will not be available. At this point your video is not deleted. If you wish to delete your video entirely, press "delete".
7. Where can I track activity for my Video Profile?
Once you are logged on to your Profile on Mayomann, and scroll to the bottom of the page you will see who was the last time on your Profile.
8. Why would people be having trouble viewing my video resume?
Our site requires Flash Player. People using older web-browsers or slower computers may experience difficulty viewing Flash based video. With minimum system requirements, there should be no problems viewing your video. Our homepage contains a link to download the latest versions of Flash.
9. What else can I do to promote my Video Profile?
Search our Job Listings database and look for suitable offerings. The employers will see you are interested and can go to your profile.
10. Who can see my information?
Only companies who are listed on Mayomann and have at least one job offering are able to view your video resume.
11. After I signed up, where do I start?
After confirming that your email and other contact information is correct on the site, post your Company Profile and, if you have one, upload your company video. Then simply post your jobs in the fields provided, make the appropriate payment (depending on the number of cities you have chosen) and start searching the database and video resumes.
